Second Practice SessionPrior to this session, I had purchased a new carb spacer to replace the one that broke in the last session and installed it. I performed basic maintenance, including cleaning the kart, and taking apart the carb and cleaning that as well. I took the day off of work for this Friday practice session. Because of this, I wasn't able to find anyone to help me. So I went to the track by myself. I was there at the track by myself for about an hour before anyone else showed up. It was a guy who ran in a motorcycle series at the track.. It was just me and him most of the day. I left my kart on the ground for most of the time, so was limited to what changes I could make. The track was running in the normal direction this time. It is terrifying going down the main straight, into the oval hardly lifting on the throttle. After awhile I got into a rythm and my laptimes were consistantly getting smaller. I was having issues with the decreasing radius hairpin and finding my braking point.. I spun off into the weeds a few times. All in all it was an improvement. |
