2006 4 Cycle Grand NationalsJohn Arscott picked up my kart on July 15 for practice for the 2006 4-Cycle Grand Nationals. The original plan was for his son to use my engine for practice and borrow another, more race-proven engine for the race. After doing laps on both engines, they found mine to be the faster one, and decided to stay with mine. They ended up using one of Michal Schorn's Animals and my WF. I missed the Thursday race (Stock Animal Heavy), but heard that Phil got into a collision with another kart and damaged the driver fairing. The official scoring has him finishing 14th out of 19. I barely caught the Briggs World Formula race and had to watch from the street. I saw him running 3rd, though later I found out he was running up front. He was sidelined due to the chain popping off the sprockets. For the next race, he used my sprocket guards so that this wouldn't happen again. His Saturday race was Stock Animal Medium, where he was having problems the whole time and finished 7th. When they returned my kart, they also gave me 4 sets of partially used tires, two Horstman rear split sprockets (68T & 67T) and a new chain. They also replaced the driver fairing to cover for the one that got damaged in the first race.
