TEAM WISHBONE

Welcome to Team Wishbone! My name is Wayne. What is Team Wishbone? Depending on my mood, it's a kart racing team, with me driving and my kids as my pit crew, or a web design business, who's sole purpose is to fund my racing.

The purpose of this site is to showcase my interests, display my photo galleries, and to keep a log of important events in my hobbies and family life. Thanks for visiting my site and I hope that you enjoy it!!

Race 1: Night Race - Race Report Aug 18, 2007
Entered my first race today. This was the 2nd annual night race at the Mac Track. The heat race was in the afternoon. Did really well. Due to my newbie status, I had to start last, which I was perfectly OK with. I had passed two drivers because of a spin at the first corner, and made a pass for position on the back straight, after a couple of attempts on previous laps. Finished an estimated 6th place out of 9 contenders.

Went to the Mac Track for my 6th practice session. Prior to this session, I had removed the head off of my engine and sent it to CMC to put an insert and get a new header bolt to replace the one that had fallen out during my last session. I removed the head this time instead of sending the entire engine, so I would avoid paying the charge to have Don do it.

Mac Practice - Karting Blog Jun 30, 2007

Went to the Mac Track for my 5th practice session. This time I was accompanied by Jay Runzi, whom I met on the SPEED Channel Forums. Prior to this session, I had somehow stripped my spark plug hole, and sent the engine to Don at CMC to have an insert put in. He had found that 80% of the threads were OK, so he removed the head and chased the threads from the back.

Mac Practice - Karting Blog Apr 21, 2007

Took my kart to the Mac Track for my 4th practice session. My first time in the rain. I took to the track with a dry setup and tires just for the experience. It felt like driving on ice. There was almost no traction and my steering input seemed to have no effect.
