Welcome to Team Wishbone! My name is Wayne. What is Team Wishbone? Depending on my mood, it's a kart racing team, with me driving and my kids as my pit crew, or a web design business, who's sole purpose is to fund my racing.

Race 5: IKF Region 6 Sprint Gold Cup (PARC) - Race Report Sep 27, 2008

My first Sprint Gold Cup! I was running with the Medium group, as the Heavys were running on Sunday. With all the weights and starter removed, my kart and I were tipping the scales at 380, which is 10 lbs. light for the Heavy group, but was 15 lbs overweight for the Medium group.

Race 4: OSKCS No. 8 (Mac Night Race) - Race Report Aug 16, 2008

August 16th was the third annual night race at the Mac track. Like the first one, it was HOT!!! During the first practice session, it was 102 degrees in the shade! After my first 10 minute run, I was so completely exhausted.

Race 2: IKF Region 6 Road Race Gold Cup (PIR) - Race Report May 17, 2008

My first race of the season, and my first road race! Woke up at 5 in the morning to go over my checklist, wake up the kids and take off for the track. Got to the track at 6:30a.m, hoping that the concession stand had breakfast. Turns out that the concession stand wasn't open all day.

Plans For Next Season - Karting Blog Nov 29, 2007

Plans for next season: I would like to enter at least 5 races for the 2008 racing season. Without seeing the 2008 schedules yet, and funds allowing, I would like to enter the following events:

  • Two road races, most likely PIR
  • Two Gold Cup/regional races: McMinnville and Pats Acres
  • McMinnville night race.
